Location : Braywick Leisure Centre
Contract: Full time/ Permanent
Salary: Up to £32,000 depending on experience

Ready to take your first step into management?
Are you ambitious, confident and passionate about working with people?
Whether you’re a recent graduate, an experienced Senior Lifeguard or Team Leader, or someone from a customer-focused background looking for your next challenge, we’re looking for a Duty Manager to join our Leisure Focus team.

This is a great opportunity to build your management experience in a busy, welcoming leisure centre where there’s always something happening.

From swimming lessons and fitness activities to community programmes, competitions and special events, our centres are places where people come to be active, have fun and connect with their community.
As Duty Manager, you’ll help make sure everything runs smoothly — and you’ll be right at the heart of it.

A role where every day is different
No two shifts are quite the same.

You could be supporting the team during a busy weekend, helping deliver an event, responding to a customer query, dealing with an operational challenge or making sure the centre is ready for the day ahead.

You’ll be visible across the centre, working with colleagues and customers and taking responsibility for the safe and successful running of the facility.
You’ll also work closely with the General Manager, giving you the opportunity to learn what it takes to run a successful leisure centre and develop your leadership skills along the way.

The Role
As Duty Manager, you will:
  • Lead and support colleagues across the leisure centre.
  • Take responsibility for the smooth day-to-day operation of the centre.
  • Help deliver excellent customer service and a welcoming experience.
  • Manage incidents, customer queries and operational issues.
  • Maintain high standards of health & safety, safeguarding and cleanliness.
  • Oversee opening and closing procedures.
  • Support the delivery of events, activities and community programmes.
  • Ensure the facilities are safe, presentable and ready for customers.
  • Support the Centre Manager and wider team in the successful running of the centre.
  • Take the lead during your shifts and make decisions when it matters.

You don’t need years of management experience.
We’re looking for potential, not a perfect CV.

You could be:
  • A recent graduate in sport, leisure, business or a related subject.
  • A Senior Lifeguard, Team Leader or Supervisor ready to take your first step into management.
  • An experienced leisure, hospitality, retail or customer-service professional looking for progression.
  • Someone who has developed leadership skills through university, sport, volunteering or employment.

If you’re someone who enjoys working with people, takes responsibility and wants to learn, we’d love to hear from you.

What we’re looking for:
  • Leadership
  • Customer Focus
  • Communication
  • Organisation
  • Teamwork
  • Responsibility
  • Confidence
  • Willingness to Learn

Relevant qualifications such as NPLQ, First Aid or a leisure/sport qualification are desirable, but they’re not essential.

What matters most is your attitude, your ability to lead and your enthusiasm to develop.

Build your career with Leisure Focus
This could be more than your next job.

It could be the opportunity to get your first real taste of management, build confidence, develop your skills and start a career in the leisure industry.

You’ll gain experience managing people, customers, facilities, events and the unexpected — all while being supported by an experienced team.

You bring ambition. We’ll help you build the experience.

Ready to take the next step?
If you’re ready to step up, take responsibility and become part of a team that helps make a difference in its local community, we’d love to hear from you.
